April Promotion

This April, buying a bucket of balls at the Whaleback Range could see you walk away with an invitation to an exclusive golfing event – and a one-in-ten chance of winning a brand-new set of Mizuno JPX 923 irons, valued at $1,800.

Like a golfing version of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Whaleback will be randomly placing ten golden golf balls into the Whaleback ball retrieval system over the course of four weeks in April. The balls will make their way from the range, into the washer and, finally, into the golf ball dispensing machines located on the upper and lower levels of the range.

If you are lucky enough to find a golden ball in your bucket of range balls, you will receive an exclusive invitation to play in the Whaleback Golden Ball Playoff – where you will have one shot, with your golden ball, to win the brand-new set of Mizuno JPX 923 irons, valued at $1,800.

The Golden Ball Playoff will take place on Saturday 27 April at 10.30am, and all golfers will receive a prize, valued between $120 and $1,800, based on their golden ball shot.

Upcoming maintenance from 15 to 28 April 2024

Why is this course maintenance happening?

We want the course to be in its best shape for you so, twice a year, we core and sand the greens. This ensures the putting surfaces remain receptive, with smooth roll, and that the grass grows evenly. We apologise for any inconvenience while the greens recover from the treatment.

When will the course maintenance take place?

We will begin coring the front nine on 15 April 2024. The front nine will be closed on 15 and 16April 2024 and greens are expected to be a little sandy for the remainder of the week.

We start coring on the back nine on 22 April 2024. The back nine will be closed on 22 and 23 April, with sandy greens expected for the remainder of the week.

Maintenance is expected to be completed by Friday 26 April 2024.

The Whaleback Driving Range will be unaffected.

Will there be a discount on green fees?

Yes, during the two-week period of course maintenance (15 – 28 April 2024), we will charge ‘Reno Rates’ for golfers.
